Wanderlust: strong longing for or impulse toward wandering

When the sailboat left the marina this past weekend, I knew it was time to start something new.
I have always loved the water, most people do for its grounding tendencies, and I am one of those people. I have always struggled between my dream of wandering and my hard work ethic that my parents passed on. I admire those people that can walk way from the "9 to 5 day", and wander.

After sailing the Budd Inlet, the itch to learn more about sailing had set in.  To my surprise the captain of the boat invited me to sail in the next four weekends of sailboat racing! My heart was racing so fast that I had to take a few moments before I started the drive back home.

For now I will keep my "9 to 5 day" and my responsibility as a mother to three energetic pit bills, in hopes that working hard now will let me retire comfortably in the future.  My itch for wandering will be scratched these next few weekends, and I can keep that craigslist bookmark on my computer set on the sailboat page. It's always good to dream.
