Unfortunately as this point in our lives we live in a community that would probably allow a 30 foot trailer parked in front of our house for a week, but any time over that and we may have problems. Thankfully I had a good friend of the family that agreed to let us store the trailer on her property while we do the main renovations. This was a huge load off and very cost effective as I have traded her rent for the trailer space on her farm for free photography shoots until whenever we deem fit.
The first thing we had to do was change the locks because the trailer didn't come with keys. Safety First. When the camper arrived the air conditioning units that had been in the windows where "stolen" the night before transportation. We didn't want the pacific north west winter to get inside or the local barn cats to make it their own, so we weather proofed the windows with cardboard, trash-bags and duck tape for the time being. This steal of a deal also came with a ton of trash inside so we bagged it up and took it to the dump.
Total we have spent so far:
$600.00 for the 5th wheel
$50.00 at Lowe's for a new dead bolt, cleaning supplies, gloves, and masks
$14.00 one trip to the dumb with garbage
1st week total $664.00
