It's that time of year again
(already!). The month of November is upon us, and so I start my annual
list of things that I am thankful for. I
am going to switch it up a little this year and make the list “things that
bring a smile to my face.” There are obviously
so many blessings that happen every day, and this year I want to concentrate on the small things.
Things that make me smile:
1st - that look of pure excitement my dogs get when I arrive home. Tails wagging, eyes huge and the huge pitbull grin.
2nd- first kisses
3rd- getting an extra hour today (thank you fall )
4th- when the eye of the tiger song comes on......I get totally pumped!
5th- when you first meet someone and you go to shake their hand and the go straight in for a hug like you have known them for years.
6th- pregnant bellies. I got to see my smiling doula patient/dentist today. She's 39 weeks and glowing!
7th- painting! I love to paint. Not so much when it's the same color on a wall, but more like lots of colors.
8th- when my siblings come to visit!!!
9th - walking along bodies of water.
10th - dancing and music of any kind
11th - My family and friends.
12th - Seeing my friend Charie and realizing only after the rush of catching up that it’s like no time has passed and I love her just as much as ever.
13th - The smell of old books as I’m browsing my local book store.
14th - Eating at new restaurants that I LOVE.....(Sapphire hotel in Portland) http://thesapphirehotel.com/
Eat, drink, kiss.
15th - Music playing ALL THE TIME.
16th - When my niece yells my name in excitement.
17th - Fresh flowers from the Saturday market
18th - falling asleep with the sun on my face
19th - Road trips through the trees
20th - A day to myself, in a new place with my camera
21st - camping
22nd - Tomato, avocado, cheese sandwich on sour dough.
23rd - Climbing into a bed of clean sheets, lots of blankets and way to many pillows.
24th - that beautiful light before the sun goes down.
25th - When I wake up in the middle of the night and look at my phone and realize I can sleep for a few more hours.
26th - Those small true moments of realization to enjoy life because its really short.
27th - the ocean
28th - Long conversations with my sister. We laugh so hard sometimes, it hurts. We have the exact same sense of humor.
29th - doing what would normally be boring things with my brother, and them turning into pure entertainment.
30th - 11:11
