COOS BAY, ORE - Last month, Ashley Kendall was shot in the back by her estranged husband as she tried to get out of her car on a Coos Bay road. He later took his own life, while she has been fighting for hers in a Portland hospital.
Her family says that, after undergoing numerous surgeries, she is slowly improving everyday.
In an e-mail message to KCBY News, received on December 3rd, the family of the 22-year-old woman says she is still in the Intensive Care Unit and still on a ventilator. Although, they say, she is now listed in Stable condition.
At this time doctors are not giving the family a timeline for how long she will have to stay in the I.C.U.
The family would like to again thank everyone who has kept Ashley in their thoughts and prayers, saying that they appreciate them all.
If you would like to help out in some way, a fund has been set up to help Ashley Kendall and her son Theren. Contributions can be made in her name at any U.S. Bank location.
